Hi,
My lawyer used a G325-A which was not downloaded from the USCIS website but was a physical form which had 4 pages of the same form in different colors(I think blue,green,yellow and pink).
I filled the first one and it automatically carbon copied it to the other 3.
Has anybody used such a form? and it is o.k to sign the first one and have the other 3 with carbon copy signatures?
Let me know if this is o.k

Hi,
I am working in US on L1 and my company would start my green card filling in next few months.
I also have valid H1B pettion stamped and can switch to H1B which would mean that I can work freely here at US.
But many of my friends told me that green card processing is faster on L1.
I am not able to make decision whether I should continue working on L1 or change my status to H1 to get better hike and more opportunity.
Pls can anyone tell me which would be wise choice. Is green card processing for L1 visa is faster?

Did he say anything about how many trips abroad you can make with the 2 approvals he gave back?
My lawyer says I should apply for more AP's if I need to make more trips abroad than the # of approvals that I have.
SO I'm wondering how many approvals does one trip take?
Because if you have two stamped approvals with you ,a person with 2 initial approvals will have one stamped approval with him.
So will he be able to make another trip abroad?

My AP was approved for multiple trips. So I can use the 2 stamped AP as many times as I want. The officer told me that when I use the APs for my next trip then they are going stamp the same APs again. And that I will not need to submit anything on my next trip. It would be advisable to keep some photocopies of the AP just in case they ask for a copy.

I am in 7th year extension. I have PD 'Jan 2004 and my I-140 is cleared. (EB3)
If I get extension for 3yrs, can I switch to another Company. And since I have 5 yrs of exp, can I file in EB2?

Thanks for the response Tom. What if I want to use my EAD card and not do an H1 transfer. Is that going to be a problem?
There is no requirement for number of employees. You need to make sure the company is financially capable to do H1. You must make sure you get salary equal or above the salary offered in your LC. And also the job duties are same or similar.

What are you saying? Health Services dismal? I thought it was better than US in many aspects. The cost is cheap for treatment (unless you have some uncommon disease. Since the system is churning up so many doctors, there is a lot of competition. Even in small villages you will find many doctors competing for patients. Maybe that is not true for everywhere, but that is what I have seen in my home state Haryana.
Also the education system may not be perfect, but kids don't have to go to private schools, because public schools have run out of capacity. There are problems like not all-around development, and not all kids doing great in studies. But that is true even in US, unless you are sending your kids to a fine private school (which by the way you can do in India, if you have money). JMHO

May be there is some problem with your system. It was updated in the morning only and we are all getting the latest one. Please clear cache and try again.
I saw that in morning , trust me its one of those things I do on my laptop everyday in the morning.

Guys,
I faced this problem myself. My wife was on H1 earlier and she never worked for a period of 1 year. At the beginning of the H1 period, we are expecting a baby and we took easy about her doing any job (its my fault). Later, market turned worse, it became to hard for her and her employer look for projects for her.
So, I contacted a lawyer (he is great). He told me that her status is H1 even though she is not working and she has to get back to H4. He assured me that they will for my documents more than her's and we filed as such and we don't even have her pay stubs or W2 forms.
She got in 45 days period and last week she went for H4 stamping, showing my documents. Yesterday, she got her passport back with H4 stamp.
What Nayekal says is correct. Even though technically your wife is out of status but she may gey H1 to H4 transfer approved without paystubs. Now she has to file immediately for H11 to H4

If she is here on H4 and while she was here her H1B got approved then there is no problem. As H1B is not VISA and its intent to hire. Infact if she wanted to to Join work on H1B, she will need to apply status change application for H4 to H1B.
No, not correct. Since she got a new I-94 her status changed to H1 w.e.f October 1, 2008.
However, because she did not work she is currently out of status. She will have to change her status back to H4 either by going out of country and re-entering with H4 visa or filing I-539.

If you call a nurse help line and tell them that "my kid living farfaraway city, he is sick, what options do I have to make him recover?" - The answer would be take him to a doctor. Same analogy applies here, Just mentioning 'some more document', 'doubts', 'working on getting those documents' does not give any of us the big picture. Consult an attorney and decide your course of action.

In the absence of a date, it is 6 moths from admitted date, by default. You may confirm this by calling USCIS.

The future is not in the hands of fate, but in ours. The summer August recess is here and the lawmakers are back in their constituencies. This is an opportunity for us to meet with them and address our issues and present solutions in preparation for the upcoming CIR. We must push for our agenda to get our provisions in the base bill as CIR is being drafted currently. If we do not get our provisions in the base bill then it is much harder to get them attached to the bill in the form of amendments.
IV therefore requests its members, to call up and start scheduling lawmaker meetings NOW. Please take appointments with your local lawmakers of both houses of Congress. You can find more information about how to reach your lawmaker in this guide http://immigrationvoice.org/media/HowTo_Guide_MeetLawmakers.doc
We are organizing national and state level calls to coordinate this effort. You will be given detailed instructions on how to schedule meetings, what to carry, and most importantly present the IV community’s agenda and present solutions. We have scheduled two nationwide calls on August 11 and 12 to get everyone started on this action item. You can find the details of these calls including the dial in numbers from your state chapter or on IV’s Donor Forum.
To that end, we have created multiple documents and support material that will go into your “Advocacy Packet” for you to carry for these lawmaker meetings. We have also created a Lawmaker Appointment Book http://immigrationvoice.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=80&Itemi d=36 where you will post the details of your lawmaker appointment and we will provide you with the advocacy packet. It is a right given to every person on US soil by the first amendment in the constitution. Peaceful and legitimate advocacy is an essential part of a democratic society. There is nothing to be afraid of. Just because you call your local lawmaker’s office or send them an email or a fax or meet them to make your case, your pending green card is not going to be in jeopardy. We must understand that we cannot talk about frustrations and ideas on the message boards and forums without following through on those words by meeting our lawmakers. Words without action are futile.
Without any legislative action from congress, we all have a decade plus wait lying ahead of us. The retrogression is a reality and the nationality doesn’t matter. The priority date of your EB category doesn’t matter. Time to act is now. As the summer recess approaches for the congress in the month of august, the lawmakers will be back in their constituencies. This gives us an opportunity to meet with them as their constituents and make our case for our provisions to be included in the upcoming Comprehensive Immigration Reform. We have prepared an advocacy packet for you. Detailed instructions on how to set up meetings with your members of congress are included in it along with the supporting documents to make our case for Employment Based Green Card reforms.
Immigration Voice Advocacy is a grassroots effort. Each one of you must become an advocate for the change we seek. Together, we will bring America out of the current economic recession and strengthen the national security. As a highly educated and highly skilled future American living in this country legally, we must petition the lawmakers to address our issues and present the solutions. I just called USCIS and according to the person I spoke with, it takes approximately 30 days from the date of approval of primary applicant for approval of dependents.

Did u receive ur extension? My case is pretty same, my receipt notice date has passed but no change in LUD. My case is in CSC. Have u received any RFE? Some ppl were saying that it takes around 3 months for getting approval from CSC.
