Michigan lottery|Winner claiming|Player club:The Official Lottery Winners Rule Book 2010 has again been busted out this week in honour of a big winner – this time on the American side of the pond. Last month, we saw how Britain’s biggest ever winner was able to stay anonymous if they wanted to. The winner chose this option and no one will ever no who he/she/it is. American citizens don’t have the same option.
Saturday’s Powerball jackpot stood at $128million and it has all gone to one lucky Michigan resident. The point of purchase is what may be stopping the person from coming forward though. Uptown Bookstore in Highland Park, Michigan, sold the ticket amongst other items such as adult books, pornographic movies and sex toys. Is the embarrassment of shopping in this type of established worth a cool $128million? Some people may even be proud of the fact that they were shopping here
Apparently, so far it has been rather too embarrassing for the ticket purchaser. What I don’t understand is why do they have to reveal the exact establishment at which the ticket is bought? If it’s to create cheap comedy and entertainment, the writer’s strike ended long ago!
