Here is what you do,
1. Do not talk to them on phone
2. Send them a letter stating keeping your salary is against law. If they think you owe them the money, send you a letter explaining why they think the money is owed and how much, state that filing of labor is a cost to the company and not to the employee as per DOL
3. Give them a time limit of 30 days.
4. Ask them to send all the correspondence to your home address.
5. Send them a letter with some kind signature rcpt.
Wait and see, If they have a real claim then they will respond to you otherwise they will send your money.

Very strange i mail my I-485 on July 19th and got my receipts and check cashed. But I see other peoples who mailed July 2nd and they are still waiting for receipt? Why is that? Does not make sense.

Lets file a lawsuit to get the info in a manner we need:
1) breakdown of processing dates in a manner that co relates to visa bulletin.
i.e.: tell us how many petitions by per country are pending/processed and processing dates by country and category. Atleast USCIS is answerable to visa bulletin.
2) Visa usage by category reporting each month
(How many petitions were approved are pending by visa category and by country) (here I mean just I140 and I485). Adjust the numbers if there are denials.
This will atleast help everyone predict whats going to happen in recent months. One of the heartburns we have is no information comes out of USCIS and we are held hostage to what oppenheim says or Aytes says or Sheela Murthy says. This is public information so lets try and get it public every month.

I understand the pain you are going through... but we do not want to sound pissed! Just a simple best wishes will put our message through (if done by enough people). It burns no bridges... and it can attract the media... we want to shame them not ourselves!

You are absolutely right, but that is not the sort of solution that Corporations see as what would raise american competitiveness. That is what this whole thing is about.
I feel that even if the SKIL bill passes, there will be another bill in a couple of years to bring down the number of H1s. That is because, the American public will raise their voice.

I think culture vs quality of life is a different thing.
I am not saying that one place is better than the other...
There are many things for which I love living in the US...long list...
there are many things for which I love living in India...I think the list might not be as long as the US one....
2 of the main things I miss in the US.
1. Parents , Siblings and extended family....I do not know how much time anyone will have for me if I were to go back -:)
2. Culuture...mainly for the kids...here once the kids are 10 or 11 I think you cannot tell them anything much...they have thier own mind and will not listen to you....and might end up making wrong decisions...again not saying that this is 100% safe in India...but agian in India I think the kids listen to you till they are a little older....this helps as they might be a little more mature by then and hopefully will make more wise decisions...
Again, I am not saying life is easier or better in one place compared to the other...
If I were to go back to India (which is what we plan to do in 2 years from now) then it will be becuase of the 2 main reasons above...I really wish there was a work around for the 2 above and I would then stay back -:)
Both are great countries with plus and minus....

When some one decides to apply AC21 by having an offer from another employer, it is not clear if one is required to inform USCIS about it. Some say one should, others say, not required.
